Dornala : Tense situation prevailed on the premises of ZP High School here on Friday as villagers protested ‘punishment’ of student for taking deeksha by headmaster.

According to the details, a boy Edukondalu and his father Adinarayana two days ago met headmaster Raju and sought his permission for the boy to go home for performing some ritual as part of Govinda Deeksha during lunch hour.  On Friday, Edukondalu went to school for the first time after taking the Deeksha. The headmaster called him and scolded him for coming to school without uniform.

He ordered the student to remove the yellow dress immediately or he would tear his transfer certificate. When the boy cried, the headmaster made him stand in sun up to the lunch hour. Seeing that, a villager took him to the headmaster and said that it was not good to punish a student for taking religious deeksha.

The boy’s father Adinarayana said that the news about the punishment spread in the village by evening and the villagers met the headmaster Raju in room. They demanded an explanation for punishing the boy for taking deeksha, but the response of the headmaster didn’t convince them. Irritated by his response, the villagers warned him not to involve in the religious sentiments from here after.
