Say Sravan Kumar had no information about Ananda Babu’s visit

Days after the Cabinet reshuffle, dissidence in the TDP refuses to die down.

Minister for Social Welfare N. Ananda Babu, who was going towards the place where foundation stone for a 125-ft statue of B.R. Ambedkar was to be laid on April 14, was blocked by followers of Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar at Inavolu.

Mr. Ananda Babu, along with Principal Secretary, Social Welfare, S.S Rawat, was going to inspect the venue at about 11 a.m. when party workers blocked the car and staged a sit-in. They said the local MLA had no information about the visit. The Thullur police stepped in and dispersed the villagers.

The Minister left in the car of Mr. Rawat.

I was made a

scapegoat: Ravela

Meanwhile, former Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, who was axed from the Cabinet citing differences with party cadre in Prathipadu, caused a flutter when he wrote a letter to his supporters saying though he had worked relentlessly for the welfare of Dalits, he had been unceremoniously dumped citing minor issues.

“What has pained me is the fact that some of my own partymen have conspired against me and made me a scapegoat. For the last three years, I have travelled extensively across the State popularising the schemes launched by the Chief Minister, sometimes even neglecting my family,” he said.

Mr. Kishore Babu said he was going abroad on a week-long trip and would take a decision after returning to the country.
